Minister Valencia Epps is the second of six born to Larry and Dorothy Parks. After graduating from Douglass High School, she attended DeKalb Junior College, and she worked for the State of Georgia while in school. Minister Epps received her first full time job with Southern Bell [retired], IRS [part-time], U.S. Census Bureau, and DeKalb County School District. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at 22 years old and chose to serve Him since. Minister Epps has spent the majority of her time educating teaching children and led the women’s ministry. During all this time, she had an opportunity to receive her bachelor and master’s degrees at Luther Rice University. In addition, I enrolled at Richmont University to earn a master’s in counseling. However, upon having a heart attack and stroke while enrolled at Richmont, has left her with the challenge of completing her studies due to her speech and vision being affected. Minister Epps continues to study and share the Word of God wherever she goes, which allows her to enjoy and thrive in her calling. She was licensed as a Gospel Minister in 2019 by Dr. Patrick K. Latimore, Pastor of Greater Fair Hill Baptist Church. She is blessed with a husband of 44 years, has a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandsons.
